Jennifer Canady is a lifelong conservative and a Lakeland native. She is a teacher, a wife, a mother, and a community leader – she’s not a politician. She has spent her life committed to making our community stronger.
A Community Leader
Taught fifth grade at Carlton Palmore Elementary and Cleveland Court Elementary.
Directs the RISE Institute at Lakeland Christian School, where she has served for 15 years. RISE (Research, Innovation, STEM Learning, and Entrepreneurship) helps young people learn to make a positive difference in their community.
Coaches the school’s FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team, where students use advanced STEM skills to do outreach and design and build robots.
Grows food to connect and serve the community at the Urban Farm at Mass Market.
A Lakeland local
Attended Scott Lake Elementary, St. Paul Lutheran School, and Lakeland Highlands Jr. High.
Graduated from Kathleen High School.
Worked in her family’s business, Cleveland Heights Animal Hospital, from a young age.
Graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University and Master’s degree from the University of South Florida.
Jennifer and her husband, Charles, have been married for more than 25 years. Together, they have two daughters, Julia and Anna. Jennifer and Charles are members of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Lakeland.
